This was one of the most frequent questions I used to get as the Admission Director of ISB and even after that as an MBA Admission Consultant at TutelageX.
Here is the short answer: No! You dont get an advantage in Evaluation
Here is the long answer: Yes!
As director of Admissions at ISB, I had the opportunity to be friends with Admission Heads of many top Business schools across the globe. I can vouch for this - You do not get extra points just because you applied in earlier rounds. The top B Schools do not compromise on the quality of intakes. So the answer is apply ONLY WHEN you are ready to apply. It means your scores in order and you are ready with your essays and have also started in advance the interview preparation.
Applying in earlier rounds helps you in getting to know the results earlier, which enables you to select the best schools from the pool of schools that have given you admit. Moreover, it helps you better in transitioning as MBAs from top schools are very demanding and you would be expected to hit the ground running.
I have created some posts on linkedin on this topic, you may like to refer to them. Feel free to connect with me or write to me. Will be glad to assist.
