Hi vedha0,

To start, the process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT/mock requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically should not take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. Since you are now so close to your Official Test Date, you should NOT take any more CATs.

As far as seeing "back-to-back" questions in the Verbal section, that's a direct result of two things: First, each set of RC questions come as a group - and since RC passages usually do not appear back-to-back, the intervening set of questions between two RC sets will be CR and SC. Second, most GMATers see far more SC prompts than CR prompts (which is one of the reasons why you can finish the Verbal section on time). Thus, you will likely have several instances during your Official GMAT in which you will see 2 or more SCs in a row - and that has nothing to do with how well you are performing.

In these last few days, you should limit your studies to general practice and light review (NO CATs and NO 'cramming') - you would be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Good thinking but the number of sentence correction questions is pretty much set for the test. There’s a variance of a couple but usually you’ll see anywhere between 13 and 15 sentence correction questions. So 15 is spot on.

PS. It is not you, the test does it to everyone.

I gave 3 official mocks this week and noticed one strange pattern in verbal.

I get 13 RC questions, 14 SC questions, 9 CR questions.

My RC and CR accuracy is better than SC. so it made me wonder - is this how the scoring and question picking algo works? if i make more mistakes in one section, it bombards me with questions continuously from that section? (i did feel like being bombarded because i was facing back to back SC questions, sometimes 5 in a row! that is more than half of how much CR questions i have got!!)

Also, my SC concepts seem fine. I studied from GMAT Ninja. My practice accuracy is above 70% with easy and medium being 80%+ and hard being 60%. but during the tests, i mess up big time due to anxiety and seem to have a hard time among the last 2 options. accuracy is around 55. i seem to mess up in execution. i have my actual exam in less than a week. any tips? please help.

Hi vedha0,

No, the GMAT algorithm does not try to bombard you with questions of any one type. We're dealing with 3PL here, not Skynet. :)
