I got 50Q+42V = 760 and a friend of mine got 50Q+42V = 750 a month ago. Our test dates were approx a couple of weeks apart.
I theory below explains how two identical scaled scores may result in different total score.
The way i look at it is : The scaled scores are perhaps rounded.
So lets look at the above two scores and assume that:
1) 50Q+42V = 50.4Q+42.4V in reality and was rounded.
2) 50Q+42V = 50.1Q+42.1V in reality and was rounded.
Both the above scores when rounded may result in the above identical scaled scores.
Lets further assume that the two section scores are added and then rounded and then a total score is calculated. (This the actual process may be different and much more complicated)
In case 1) Total = 50.4+42.4 = 92.8 = ~93 (after rounding)
In case 2) Total = 50.1+42.2 = 92.3 = ~92 (after rounding)
The case 1) score may result in 760 total (99%) whereas case 2) score
may result in 750 total (98%).
The above is just a theory but it shows that the scaled scores we get may be the rounded scores and hence may result in diff. total in some cases.
