Hi!
I recently became aware that a candidate can defer their admission to ISB by a year, under extenuating circumstances. What happens if a candidate is denied a deferral, but cannot join? Will they be able to reapply next year, and will it affect their chances? Also, in cases of deferral, it might be possible that it is a situation where the candidate cannot produce documents - what happens in that case?
If anyone knows, please do respond! Thanks in advance!
Hi
lavanyaraghu If you are denied a deferral and cannot join, you can reapply the following year. If your app is strong, this usually does not affect your chances. In cases of deferral, if you cannot prima facie produce documents, ISB may still allow a deferral if it finds your case fit. However, if these documents are ones specifically requested by ISB post the deferral request, and you cannot produce them, it will result in denial of deferral.
Overall, please note that deferral is fairly rare and provided usually under extenuating circumstances only.
