Dear hrishi84,

Your profile is quite compelling. You have demonstrated consistent academic performance throughout your 10th, 11th, and graduation years, coupled with valuable work experience at a leading product company. Furthermore, your exceptional extracurricular involvement stands out as a significant highlight of your profile.

However, the low GMAT score presents a challenge. Despite this, we recognize the potential in your application. There have been instances where candidates with low GMAT scores have successfully gained admission to ISB, particularly when they possess exceptional strengths in other areas of their profile.

The decision on whether to retake the GMAT hinges on your confidence in improving your score. If you have consistently performed better in your mock exams, we recommend investing the effort to retake the GMAT. Conversely, if you believe a substantial improvement is unlikely, it would be prudent to focus on strengthening your application. Crafting a compelling narrative for the admissions committee will be crucial.

We genuinely see potential in your profile and are eager to support you in presenting your strengths in the most impactful way possible. At Team FLY, we are a dedicated collective of ISB alumni committed to assisting prospective ISB candidates with profile positioning, essay critiques, and interview preparations.

Please feel free to book a 15-minute free session for a detailed discussion with us at: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

With warm regards,
Team FLY

Hi Hrishi84,

with the kind of competition you will face at b-schools such as ISB, its simply not worth it to apply with a sub optimal GMAT score. Overall, your profile is great and I strongly suggest you retake GMAT - you have that one chance in a year, so make the best of it.
Even if you apply in a later application cycle, you will be good so long as you put your best foot forward (which in your case means a great application + 700+ score).
All the best to you!

Hi hrishi84
I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your experience at FAANG and Phonepe looks impressive, along with your ECs, amazing work out there. Now the bigger task is how to express these achievements to the Adcoms? For instance, you have mentioned mentoring over 500+ students, so you need to highlight how exactly you were able to help and how the students benefit, with statistics. On the work front, highlight important projects you undertook and their outcomes. Adcoms are interested in how you have impacted.

Looking at your GMAT score, I would recommend going up for a retake, see a 605 FE still stands at around 650 on the classic version, while the average for ISB is around 710-720. I wouldn’t say that with a 605 FE, ISB would be impossible, but honestly would be very difficult. Atleast try for something around 655.
