Hi, need profile evaluation for ISB. 
 Academic Scores: 
10th – 83.5%
12th – 91.6%
Eco hons, University of Delhi – 6.6 CGPA
My career journey began at a boutique forensic advisory firm, where I worked for approximately 8 months. In this role, I was involved in investigative and forensic research assignments, supporting engagements that required analytical thinking, data gathering, and detailed research. The experience gave me exposure to risk assessment, corporate investigations, and problem-solving in complex business situations.
Following this, I joined an expert network firm, where I have been working for the past 1.5 years. As part of my role, I work closely with consulting firms, private equity funds, investment firms, and corporate clients to identify and engage relevant industry experts for strategic and commercial due diligence projects. My responsibilities include conducting industry and company research, understanding client requirements, mapping relevant experts, managing outreach, and facilitating expert consultations across a wide range of sectors.

Would appreciate an honest assessment of my profile, including my strengths, potential gaps, and competitiveness for ISB PGP.

  The Graduation CGPA (6.6 from DU):  This is your main academic hurdle. DU Eco Hons is notoriously strict with grading, which the AdCom knows, but a 6.6 CGPA is still on the lower end for competitive business school cohorts. You cannot change this number, but you  must  neutralize it. 
  Total Work Experience Duration:  By the time you apply/matriculate, you will have roughly 2 to 2.5 years of total work experience. While ISB’s minimum requirement is 24 months, the  average  work experience for the PGP cohort hovers around  4.4 years . Being at the younger/fresher end of the applicant spectrum means your professional achievements must show outsized impact. 
  Lack of Direct "Ownership" Metrics:  In an expert network role, it is easy to sound like a coordinator or a facilitator ("mapping experts," "managing outreach"). If your application reads like an operations coordinator, your competitiveness drops.  
3. Your Checklist to Maximise Competitiveness
To build an airtight application for ISB, focus your energy on these three execution pillars:
Pillar 1: Crush the GMAT Focus or GRE
Because your graduation CGPA is a 6.6, you need a test score that completely removes any doubt regarding your quantitative and analytical capability.
 
  Target:  Aim for a  685+ on the GMAT Focus Edition  (equivalent to a 730+ on the legacy GMAT) or a  326+ on the GRE . 
 A score in this range signals to ISB that your DU GPA is simply a reflection of strict university relative grading, not your actual intellectual capacity.  
Pillar 2: Pivot Your Resume Vocabulary
In your essays and resume, rewrite your current job description to highlight commercial scale and tactical business judgment.
 
  Instead of saying:   "I identified and engaged relevant industry experts for commercial due diligence projects..."  
  Frame it as:   "Facilitated market-entry and commercial due diligence insights for top-tier Private Equity and Strategy Consulting firms across X sectors, accelerating transaction pipelines worth  ..."  
 Show them that you don't just find people on LinkedIn; you deeply understand  why  the consulting firm needs that expert, and you understand the business bottlenecks being solved.  
Pillar 3: Craft a Seamless "Why MBA" Story
Your story writes itself beautifully if done correctly. You have spent years enabling consultants and PE investors with the data they need to make decisions. Your logical next step—your "Why MBA"—is that you now want to pivot from being the  facilitator of market insights  to the  owner of strategic decisions .
An MBA from ISB is the perfect, necessary vehicle to cross that bridge into consulting or corporate strategy.

StaticPig Hi! Interesting background in forensics. But it does hurt a little that this interesting stint was only 8 months long. What happened there? That role is likely where the more analytical and strategic elements of your profile sit. In your current role, have you been doing mostly relationship management and research coordination? One concern could be that your exposure to PE, consulting, and investment firm clients is somewhat passive in nature, where you are servicing their research needs rather than contributing directly to the intellectual work, investment thinking, or strategic decision-making itself. The career arc from forensic advisory into expert networks is more coherent than it might look on paper, but the missing piece here is your GMAT or GRE score, which will do more work at ISB's screening stage than anything else in your file right now.

•⁠ ⁠The 6.6 CGPA from Delhi is the number that will draw the most scrutiny: ISB's academic review tends to be unforgiving of sub-7 scores from well-known institutions, so a strong GMAT (Focus 685-plus, or Classic equivalent 730-plus) becomes less optional and more load-bearing for your application.

•⁠ ⁠Your work experience sits in an unusual but defensible space: expert networks are well understood by finance and consulting adcoms, and the client-facing, cross-sector research angle has a clear throughline to roles people enter ISB to pursue.

We have gone through your profile and queries. Here is what we think:

A Delhi University economics graduate with a 6.6 CGPA gets read against the grading norms of that program, which are genuinely compressed, but the number still sits below what ISB readers typically want to see, especially given a career that has stayed in research and knowledge-services roles so far.

- Two years of total experience, split across forensic advisory and an expert network, is thin for ISB's PGP, where the median is closer to five years; this profile would need to either wait and build progression or enter with an unusually strong test score and a very precise goals story to make the early application credible.
- The expert network role carries real strategic exposure, since mapping and vetting experts for PE and consulting due diligence requires sector judgement and client management, but that substance has to appear explicitly in essays and recommendations, because the job title won't signal it on its own.
- There's no GMAT or GRE score in this post, and that's where the immediate decision sits: a score in the high 700s on the Classic scale (or roughly 725-plus on the current GMAT) would do significant work offsetting the 6.6 CGPA, while anything at or below the class median would leave the academic record as a persistent concern with no counterweight.

Work on the test first, then revisit the school list when experience is closer to four years.
