This is the guideline from ISB:
You are required to respond to the following question.Your response will be evaluated for depth of analysis and the unique perspective that you bring to the issue.
Now given the essay question, it would be impossible to show depth in analysis (because there is nothing given to analyse
), but you can definitely show a unique perspective or element in your candidature. Essentially you will talk about something that:1. adds to the other information asked through the application form (academic details, ECAs, hobbies). If there are special/ unique experiences related to this (or internships), you can write about them here.
2. shows that you have good experiences and can contribute them to the ISB class
3. shows that you have the right skills and attitude required to succeed in an MBA program. Think of leadership skills, taking initiative, managing people
Lastly, there should be a purpose to what you share with the adcom. When you select a story, ask yourself what is it that you wish to tell the adcom through it? What impression about you will it create? and why is it relevant to a business school?
These three questions are super important and are often overlooked by applicants when they write initial drafts of essays.
