I just picked up the RC section & am facing issues with the general questions, questions like:
1) what is the main purpose of the passage / point the author is trying to make 2) What is the role of the third paragraph / how is 2nd paragraph related to 3rd etc...
I am a non native English speaker, when I read the passage I am able to understand pretty much everything except the MAIN POINT. I picked up MGMAT RC book, It is pretty good & has god concepts tips & tricks.
But when I answer the general questions, I don't seem to have confidence answering them, I am usually able to eliminate 2 out of 5, but the rest 3 I find hard to shortlist........I think this is also one of the reasons I often get the specific detail questions wrong.
I follow every thing the book tells to.....make a headline list/skeletal sketch while reading...etc.......but that doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestion to improve the comprehension of the passage........especially to answer general questions????

I have learned two languages other than my native. I have never found an easier solution than hard work and lots of practice. If you find a better way please let me know. I would like to learn more languages.
