Downloaded PPrep software from mba.com, but couldn't run the software after installing it. Windows shuts down the program after popping in "couldn't find the file specified" and modeswap.exe error. I am positive that all required files are there...
has anyone faced the similar issue with this software? any cues? any guide?
I have windows XP on my machine (I tried changing the resolution to 640*480, but in vain). I tried software's compatibility with win 2000 too, but neither did that work.
I couldn't figure out what could be the possible issue with the software. Let me know if you need more info to figure out the problem.

I had the same issue (I think) a long time ago. What I did was not double clicking on the PP icon but instead, start it from the "start" icon at the bottom left of screen. I'm not a computer whiz but it worked for me. You might want to try that

huh! that's an interesting case you encountered, Paul. Bill Gates would be happy to know what caused and what resolved the issue 
anyway, thank you for replying to my query. I had the things resolved; I spent 3 hrs breaking into all the system directories/registry to figure out what could have caused the issue.
At the end, I found it is simple bug (i guess) that messed up everything. PPrep puts 2 different exe in 2 diff folders (PGMAT/PPREP) and uses Microsoft's modeswap to link these 2 exe. I am guessing that mode swap is not compatible with the XP, or PPREP may have the older version of it (compatible to '95 or 2000). In an case, what I had to do 's to provide the link directly to the PGMAT folder intsead of letting the mode swap try that. And all worked great!!!
