Total cost in terms of cents/mile in m+g,
convert that to dollars and it becomes m+g/100 since there are 100 cents in a dollar,
multiply that by 200 miles and you get 2(m+g) dollars.

The cost in cents to run a car 200 miles is 200g + 200m, so in dollars that is:

(200g + 200m)/100 = 200(g + m)/100 = 2(g + m)
