My answer is E.

Total cost in terms of cents/mile in m+g,
convert that to dollars and it becomes m+g/100 since there are 100 cents in a dollar,
multiply that by 200 miles and you get 2(m+g) dollars.

It costs g cents per mile for gasoline and m cents per mile for all other costs to run a car. How many dollars will it cost to run a car 200 miles?

A. 200m/g
B. 200gm/(g + m)
C. 200gm
D. 200(g + m)
E. 2(g +m)

The cost in cents to run a car 200 miles is 200g + 200m, so in dollars that is:

(200g + 200m)/100 = 200(g + m)/100 = 2(g + m)

Answer: E
