Is the subject pages or page? "Were" just sounds correct in my head.
"It would be great if this page was to be split into several different pages."

However, if i change the sentence and removed "to be":
"It would be great if this page was split into several different pages."

Then "was" seems appropriate.

Requesting input on which of the two is correct.

was is not correct.
since you are using "IF", you need to follow the conditionals rules.
Since we are talking about a hypothetical situation, the second conditional must be applied, therefore, were is the correct form.
