Let time to take a Shower = S minutes, Walk = W minutes and drink coffee = C minutes
We are given that the time taken to do all 3, takes 45 minutes, i.e S + W + C = 45 -- (Equation 1)
So we need to find the time to drink Coffee.
Statement I: It takes him four times as long to walk to work as it takes him to drink coffee i.e if time to drink coffee is 1 hour, then time to walk will be 4 times that = 4 hours.
W = 4C
Substituting in Equation (1), we have S + 4C + C = S + 5C = 45
With this statement, we have no information linking Shower to Coffee.
Therefore Statement I Alone is Insufficient. Answer options could be B, C or E
Statement II: Showering and drinking coffee take him a total of 25 minutes. i.e S + C = 25
Substituting in Equation (1) we get W + 25 = 45 or W = 20 minutes.
We cannot get any information on time to drink coffee.
Therefore Statement II Alone is Insufficient. Answer options could be C or E
Combining Both Statements:W = 4C and W = 20 minutes.
Time to drink coffee = \(\frac{20}{5}\) = 5 minutes
Therefore Both Statements together are sufficient.
