Jane's net worth is twice as much as Mike's. Mike's net worth is 60% of Bridget's. Diane's net worth is 50% of Laura's. Laura's net worth is 190% of Jane's. Which of these 5 people owns the least?

(A) Bridget
(B) Diane
(C) Jane
(D) Laura
(E) Mike

J = 2(M), so M<J,

Now both D and L are >J as L= J+190% and D is half of L.

Only two left, B and M;
M= (6/10)* B, so M is the least.

Given: Jane's net worth is twice as much as Mike's. Mike's net worth is 60% of Bridget's. Diane's net worth is 50% of Laura's. Laura's net worth is 190% of Jane's.

Asked: Which of these 5 people owns the least?

Let net worth of Jane(J), Mike(M), Bridget(B), Laura(L) and Diane(D) be denoted by initial letters of their names.

J=2M
M=.6B
D=.5L
L=1.9J

J:M:B:D:L= 2:1:5/3:1.9:3.8

L(3.8)>J(2)>D(1.9)>B(5/3)>M(1)

Mike owns the least (has lowest net worth)

IMO E

i solved using values
given
j=2
m=0.6b
d=05L
L=1.9*J
so let b=60
then m=36
J=72
L=136.8
D=68.5
IMO E Mike has least

We can create the equations:

J = 2M

M = 0.6B

D = 0.5L

L = 1.9J

If B = 100, then M = 60, J = 120, L = 228 and D = 114.

So Mike owns the least.

Answer: E
