Speed of Jen = 100 metres in 60 seconds = (5/3) metre per second.
We need to find : Is Length of the track > 500 metres ?
Statement 1:
She took more than 250 seconds to cover the track.
If time is 250, then the length is (5/3)*250 = 416.67 metres.
since the time is more than 250, after time =300 seconds, the length of the track is greater than 500 metres.
So, we get two different answers.
Hence, Insufficient
Statement 2:
She took less than 290 seconds to cover the track.
For any time less than 290 seconds, the length of the track is always less than 500 metres.
so, we can confidently say the length of the track is NOT greater than 500 metres.
Hence, Sufficient
