The ratio of h to p is 12 to 25.

If h is increased by 5, the ratio becomes 13 to 25. Notice that increasing a quantity in the ratio by 1 corresponds to an actual increase of 5, so all of our actual numbers must be 5 times what they are in the ratio. So we have 60 hardcovers, 125 paperbacks, and 185 books in total.
