what are you doing in your current role? it'll be helpful for us to know so we can see if there are ways for you to leverage that into a finance related role.

also, i'd try to read up on the industry and have a better understanding what it is that you want to get into more specifically. this is very important because you can't start networking until you've got some understanding of the industry and where you want to go. if someone is open to helping you and asks you what you want to do, you'd better have a clear, well thought out answer, rather than just "uhhh...i'm open to mergers and acquisitions...or trading" which are completely unrelated fields.

also, aside from the cfa, i'd look into taking some courses part time, which will boost your resume/credibility when you tell people that you're interested in finance.

since you graduated in 2009, i'd also consider applying for some MF or MFE programs. the good programs place extremely well into the top tier banks.
