I have a BS in Psych and am having trouble finding careers in the business field. I have some background in Collections and just got offered a role as a Collections Coordinator with a fortune 100 company. It is not a call center, but I'm wondering still if this is a job that I'll be able to use to apply for an MBA, or what type of career I should be looking to get into prior to applying for an MBA program? I'd like a role as a business analyst but am having trouble due to lack of experience. Will this job choice help or hinder my future in terms of applying for MBA, and post MBA careers?
I'd aim for a top 30 school. I went to a good undergrad college, with a not-so great GPA, I'd have to really well on the gmat, but I'd aim for as high of a school I can get into. Do you think it would be a better idea for me to stay in this role for as long as I have to, then try to move to something else in the company, stay there for awhile, and then go for the MBA? I'm almost 30 years old
