Hi everyone,
I was accepted into Cornell 2 Years and Cornell Tech and I am not sure which program should I attend. Both programs have advantages and disadvantages. I did a SWOT analysis and this is what I have so far:
MY CONTEXT: B.S. Mechanical Engineer International student from Latino America 4.5 years of experience as PM in LatAm 1.5 years of experience as Business Analyst (consultant) in the US.
GOAL: Become PM in Tech (Google, Amazon, Uber, FAANG) or Consultant in Tech (McKinsey & Company)
CORNELL TECH (JCT) Time: Summer + Fall + Spring Cost (Tuition + Living Expenses - Scholarship): 110K Internship: No Class Size - Networking: 90 students Placement previous year: 100% Salary post MBA: 150K + 50 Bonus International People: 45% Tech focus: All people focused on tech Location: Summer in Ithaca + 1 Year NY Life-Happy: Tight community + NY + Friends + Companies around + City life
CORNELL 2YR Time: Fall + Spring + Internship + Fall + Spring Cost (Tuition + Living Expenses - Scholarship): 160K Internship: Yes Class Size - Networking: 300 Students Placement previous year: 93% internacional - 97% Citizens Salary post MBA: 133K + 40 Bonus International People: 35% Tech focus: 17% placement in tech Location Plan: 9 months Ithaca + Internship + 9 months NY Life-Happy: Super tight Ithaca community + Clubs + Gym + Hike
The degree is the same in both programs, but as you can see there are a lot of differences. I had spoke with a lot of Alumni from both programs and they are amazing. Though, Cornell 2yrs people is easy to contact and connect. I think a factor for that is that Cornell Tech is really new (~6 years) so there are not so many Alumni. I am concerned of the recruiting part since the Career Center at JCT is new and apparently is not as good as the Cornell 2yr. Additionally, not sure if my experience is enough to skip the internship.
I would love your opinion of both programs and what do you recommend is the best option based on my goal and the previous information. Thank you!

Not sure if this helps but when i spoke to a couple of students and alumni and even my interviewer, who is also an alum, no one was talking about their time at Cornell tech. I was a bit surprised that not one even mentioned their time in NY. All of them kept talking highly about the program in Ithaca.
