Average Weekly Food = 2.5 lbsx7 days = 17.5 lbs
Yesterday 0.5 lbs.

Therefore % = 0.5/17.5 x 100 = 2.8 %

Average Weekly food = 2.5*7
% =\(\frac{0.5}{2.5*7}\)* 100
=\(\frac{1}{(5*7)}\)* 100
= \(\frac{20}{7}\) = 2.8 %

Hey,

    • Daily consumption of cat \(= 2.5\) lbs
    • Therefore, total consumption in a week \(= (2.5 * 7)\) lbs
    • Yesterday’s consumption \(= 0.5\) lbs
      o Percentage of average weekly consumption yesterday was \(= \frac{(0.5*100)}{(2.5 * 7)} = \frac{20}{7} = 2.84\)%
    • Hence, the correct answer is Option B.

We are given that Jon’s cat consumes an average of 2.5 lbs of food per day, which means it eats 7 x 2.5 = 17.5 pounds of food per week.

Since yesterday the cat ate only 0.5 lbs of food, it consumed 0.5/17.5 = 5/175 = 1/35 x 100 = 2.8% of its average weekly food.

Answer: B
