On 2 sides of the garden, Joseph intends to leave a space of 4 feet unfenced so he can install gates. If one yard equals three feet, how many feet of fencing does Joseph need?

Let length of side of square garden be s
Area of square garden = s^2 = 100 sq yards
So, side of garden = s = 10 yards
As 1 yard = 3 feets,
s = 3*10 = 30 feets
Perimeter of square = 4s = 4*30 = 120 feets
As 4feet is left without fencing on both sides for gate,
Fencing required = 120-4-4 = 112 feets.
Hence option C
