hey, sister.

I was in your boat - international relations and russian major. I'll be starting b-school in the fall, and I feel really great about how I did with admissions process this year. My background stands out from other students, and I did everything I could to show that while I am different, I can still kick @ss with the best of the i-bankers. If getting an mba is something you truly want, and provided you can write good essays and do well enough on the gmat, I think you're in a great place. Johnny and Peli have laid it out pretty well. The only thing I would add is that you might consider taking a class or two: stats, microeconomics, calc, accounting, and finance are all good choices. Taking courses would be less important if you've already taken a couple in college, have a solid gpa (as you do), and do well on the Q section of the gmat.

Good luck!

thanks so much, everyone.

I'm working on the GMAT now -- hoping to take it in a month... I actually scored higher on the Math portion of SATs than English (760 vs 720) but am definitely out of practice...

The crystal clear career plan is something that I will have to work on ALOT ... I dont have one as yet! One of the reasons I want an MBA is to discover new career options that I hadn't really thought about before...
