Hello guys,
Today I'll share my GMAT test journey, scoring 715 in GMAT FE (99 percentile).
I was a full time employee working with a public sector bank. I used to come home at 7.30 or 8 at night and got free by 9.30 or 10 after which the journey used to start. There used to be highs and lows in terms of preparation but I maintained my strength to score good in the exam.
I was weak in verbal so that was the concerned area for me. I downloaded many resources and joined a coaching as well but still not able to conquer RC. It took me time to really understand the strategy to use for RC that could have worked for me and it did in the end. I took Manhattan's full mock for verbal especially and they were really good.
For quant, I took GMAT club sectional tests and used to take 1 test daily. It really really helped me to boost my score, my concepts and my confidence.
For DI, I practised only from mocks. As the DI pattern and the types of questions are similar to the ones asked in the mocks, one can score good in this section. Still I recommend to go for OG also.
It was one heck of a ride but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I still remember that I used to stick a stick notes on my study table showing "760+". This was the score that I dreamt of before even starting this journey and by the end, this score was kind of a dream for me as in reality I was scoring 730 around in official mocks. But maybe during the exam my subconscious mind was working in some way or the other and when the unofficial score reflected, I couldn't believe my eyes. I looked at the score for straight 4-5 minutes. I felt emotional too because I never thought of scoring this much.
So my honest opinion to you everyone who's preparing for the exam is 'Be honest to youself.' It's only YOU and YOU who can achieve any feat. Being an average student, if I can achieve a score like this then you can definitely score even more than this. If you still have any query or doubt or need guidance, feel free to reach me at
