I'm making a last second decision whether or not to apply to bschool...all the admissions consultants I talk to say I'm very competitive for the two schools I'm thinking of applying to if I can get at least low 700ish score. No prep whatsoever, I just took the GMATPrep diagnostic this afternoon and got a 620 (37Q/38V)
Breakdown is as follows:
Q: 19/37
PS: 11/19
DS: 8/18
V: 30/41
RC: 13/13
CR: 6/11
SC: 11/17
I would say this is a pretty accurate assessment (based on the OG paper test book with the excellent, above average, average, etc. scoring) except for my CR score. I think I just bonked and can do much better on CR with very little work.
So my questions:
1. In two weeks of intensive studying, is it feasible get up to a low 700ish score?
2. I hear SC is the easiest to prep for in the verbal section...is this the generally accepted hypothesis?
3. Assuming I score very well on RC/CR and get my SC up, will a steller verbal score help save my overall score?
4. I've always been terrible at quant stuff. My SAT in HS was 1460 (790V/670M) so once again a poor track record tehre. I did manage to get A's in calculus and statistics at Berkeley so I know I'm not completely retarded. How realistic is it to significantly raise my quantitative section?
Thanks guys...just trying to make the decision whether I invest the time these next few weeks.
