Some great advice here already but I'd add a couple of key things:

1) The GMAT is not a typical Math and English test. It's a test of executive reasoning skills. They use Math and English Verbal as a foundation for testing those skills (because everyone who is going to attend an English based MBA program has to have studied foundational English and Core math (around year 8 to10 of school level math depending on the country).

So understanding the test fully is critical. A balance of great test-taking processes / strategies and good core knowledge of principles can get you to your target score. The test writers reward you for great process as much as deep math or English knowledge. It's a lot easier and faster to build that balance of process and knowledge.

2) The biggest question you need to keep asking is WHY you got a particular question wrong. A consist focus on great process is absolutely critical and will accelerate your score jumps.

Learning is a continuous process, and it shines with practice. Math is a very tricky subject that is easy to understand and difficult to apply.

Start with the learning of the concepts. Make detailed notes so that you can revise them 3 days before your official GMAT test.

Also, make a note of various possible combinations to achieve your target score. The possible scores will help you track your performance after taking the mock or practice test.
