Our tests are not 80 points below, according to our internal numbers; the GMAT estimator is based, at least in part, on old CD tests that we no longer use because they are inaccurate, and I just had a student get a 780 on a diagnostic meaning that he would expect an 860 on the real thing :-)

As for where it will take you, well as I said, every point counts. Our course is comprehensive, building on foundations of algebra and subject-verb agreement up to complex concepts like combinatorics and past perfect tenses. I've had students enter advanced classes with a 600 and leave with a 700; I've had at least one enter in the low 700's and leave with a perfect scores. Our materials are highly personalized, and I'm sure we'll be able to make them fit you.

Thanks again for your reply.
I am glad the tests are updated. I was talking from my research of course.
Just 1 more question (I hope its not a stupid question): Since students in Advanced program are already scoring 600, they might have been using certain strategies to solve certain types of problems. How do you work around getting everyone to work in a newer way?

Thanks

Practice.

A common phenomenon in Kaplan courses, particularly advanced courses, is a dip in scores after three or four sessions. This occurs for exactly the reason you specified: smart people trying to shift from their own methods to Kaplan's. But Kaplan's methods are (IMHO) the best in the business. Moreover, the Kaplan course offers a full 9 CATs. You'll have plenty of opportunity to work through the rough spots, and once you get the methods down your score will improve or you can get your money back.
