the new kaplan 2006 premier edition ISBN 0743265424 was just released yesterday so far there aren't any reviews ... i am still debating whether i should buy it or not because i have the 2004 edition, and i don't know if the examples and the questions will be the same for the most part or will they change, has anyone bought the book yet? is it the same as 2004??

Yes, I did buy the 2006 Kaplan. But I dont have the 2004, so cannot compare unfortunately. Also, I have not yet started any preparations on GMAT. I bought the 2006 Kaplan and the 2006 Princeton Cracking the GMAT.

i wasnt surprised actually, but rather irritated, because of the fact that they come up with new editions with the same exercises and tests a few NEW techniques or a couple a new chapters about how to apply go bus schools and they make you pay for that another $39.00 :x  :?:

I agree with you entirely. That was the point of my post above.
That's not all. Two more things about Kaplan
their questions greatly overlap between same year editions too - Kaplan GMAT 800 and Kaplan 2005 CD,
and they didn't bother to write enough questions to support their 4 CAT tests on Kaplan 2005 CD and practice sessions.

One more gripe about Kaplan.

I shelled out good money to buy their verbal workbook and found out that the excercises there are duplicated from the Kaplan 2005 "Higher Score" CD

There are two editions:

Comprehensive Program: book and online
New York Metro Edition Premiewr Program: with everything above and cd

I havent actualyy compared stuff between these 2 and the 2005 edition, but looks the same strategis practise......

The difference between the above 2 is that the new york has a list of new york mba schools while the other one doesnt.... wow bug difference ;-)

Is the difference between Kaplan 2006 and 2005 (with CD) the online test?

Kaplan 2006 has 1 test in the book and 4 CATs on the CD. It also says there is one online. Does the 2005 edition have the online test? Is the online test free => that means even if you don't have the book, you can still take that the online test.

Thanks.
