I agree.. I just took the 3rd Kaplan CAT and am honestly feeling much more confident and am able to recognize problems much faster. One thing on the kap tests: on one i got 25 right and 12 wrong to get a scaled score of 34.. and on another i got 19 right and 18 wrong to get a scaled score of 36... both in quant...so i think the software is a bit flawed.

YB, the scaled score doesn't only depend on how many questions you get right or wrong. It also depends on which questions you get right, how difficult they are, and in what order. It is possible to get a very high score on the GMAT by getting all the first questions in a section right, and a bunch of the latter ones wrong. Also, the real GMAT has some experimental questions that don't count towards the score. You won't know which they are so there's no point in speculating, but theoretically you could get all of those wrong and everything else right and get a perfect score.

Sa350g,

If you work through the Kaplan software or texts before you take their tests your score is just as inaccurate as if you were to study the OG before taking the power prep tests. My advice is that you take a Peterson`s test cold, this should give you some idea as to where you stand. Also, IMHO Kaplan math is way easier than the official test. They teach the basic concepts well, but you will need to be familiar with the challenges in this forum if you are looking to score a Q45+. Good luck!
