My understanding is they keep your old app on file, including the old interview to "refer back to". Since K is one of the schools where you need to basically resubmit a full-app, including all essays, I'd imagine they'd probably take a glance back at the old interview, but the lion's share of emphasis would be placed on the new interview.
Ha, I should clarify one thing: I DEFINITELY don't consider myself naturally gifted at interviewing. I think I'm good and can get my points across if I've practiced them beforehand, but not in a super-polished Mgmt Consultant kind of way.
Sure, would love to share the interview. I should mention that I've heard a pretty wide variety of experiences at interviews, so hard to say how typical my experience was.
I met with a local alum (not on campus) at a quiet coffee shop after work. He had a my resume and what seemed like a list of questions Kellogg wanted him to ask. He was pretty laid back and friendly and the whole interview was really conversational.
The questions were all pretty typical:
1. Talk about your jobs. Why did you leave job X? What did you do on this project?
2. Difficult Team experience
3. Leadership experiences
4. Why MBA / Kellogg.
etc
I started off a bit nervous and forgot some of my stories/answers, but calmed down a bit later and was able to salvage some of my earlier rambling.
I got the impression he didn't ask some of the oddball situational stuff that was probably on the Kellogg list because he didn't feel they added value.
Interview was around 2hrs (went over) as we sort of struck up a rapport. He did seem interested in presenting me in the best light possible to that adcom, saying he's an "advocate for my candidacy". He was pretty responsive to my post-interview questions as well.
Overall I felt things went well and the interviewer seemed a good "culture carrier" for K.
My advice is to write out your story and answer the permutation of questions they might possibly ask you. Rehearse the heck of everything and practice with friends or better yet, bschool alums or friends who are current students.
I don't know for a fact, but I think a lot of the interviews at K are done with Adcom and are much more strictly timed so you'll need to be pretty concise in your delivery.
Best of luck! Will be a big relief once that's off your back.
