Mark, Congratulations on your decision. Thanks for sharing your experience. I am sure others considering Kelley will find your post very helpful.

Excellent post Mark!
This would surely help me in deciding between Kelley and Georgetown.
Thanks to comments from you and gopher, I am now leaning towards Kelley.

I got the exact same impression from my Georgetown admitted student weekend visit. I would recommend you form your own opinion by visiting both places, if you haven't already.

Its funny how every school say that their atmosphere is great and collaborative and not cutthroat like that at "other schools". I wonder who those "other schools" really are..

Xeo78- Thanks for your impressions on Georgetown. I'm sure Georgetown is a very good school. And it's nice to hear that you had similar first hand impressions as Mark did.
Having said that, Kelley has offered me a much better aid package than Georgetown has, and for this reason(besides others) I am leaning towards kelley at this point. I'll have to make a final decision within the next 10 days, since I do not want to block 2 places any more.[I have paid the deposit at both places]
Mark- thanks for chiming in. I look forward to meeting you and gopher this fall.

I visited 3 schools and I have friends and/or acquaintances at each of the 3 schools. While one of these schools is typically associated with cut-throat competition and students' arrogance, I did not have that impression at all. Probably because I'm arrogant... I don't know why, but the people I met, plus the second hand experiences and stories I gathered from my friends made me feel that the whole arrogant / competitive issue is probably more of a cliche perpetuated by applicants than an actual widespread attitude in the school.

Cheers. L.
