Just saw the other question!

I almost feel un-deserving to post my profile - not feeling too confident (over essays). I applied to the JD-MBA.

But for kicks, here are my stats:
GMAT - 690
GPA - 3.5
Work yrs as of today: 5 yrs
Female asian born in Canada
Current role: Fortune 500 co., in Mergers/Acquistions

Your profile is fine! Good luck!

Do you have to take the LSAT to apply to the JD/MBA program? Or just the GMAT?

GMAT only. Kellogg is the only school where you don't need the LSAT. Which is the main reason this is the only school I applied for a joint program!

Thanks for posting!

I interviewed on 1/15 - on campus.

Thanks for the confidence in my profile - unfortunately my essays feel super weak. I couldn't help being obsessive and reviewing them since I applied, and just feel worse and worse about them. My resume was ok I think!

I have a question for you (and others). The big "advice" from everyone (books, blogs, people) was "don't repeat information that has already been given in other parts of the application ". So I really tried to abide by this, and think I hurt myself in essay #1. I GLOSSED over my career track, narrowing in on their "provide a BRIEF description" statement, and relied on my online app (roles descriptions) and resume to fill in the blanks. I concentrated on "why jd-mba/why kellogg" more than anything.. I think this was a bad move in retrospect. What do y'all think??

Not necessarily. I was very brief in all my essays and focused heavily on why that school. Admit at GSB, Waitlist at Kellogg, Admit at Cornell.

Admit at Tuck
Admit at UCLA
Admit at NYU
Waitlist at MIT
Admit at Wharton
Waitlist at Harvard
Admit at Stanford
Denied at Darden
Admit at Ross
Admit at INSEAD
Admit at LBS
Admit at UNC
Waitlist at Columbia

Just kidding... I didnt do that many apps... - but I did get an admit at GSB, Cornell and a waitlist at Kellogg - and I was very very brief about my career. Harvard was a ding. It's too easy to stress out about your essays - just forget about em - whats done is done, and honestly I don't think you hurt yourself.

Nah Thats fine
If info x is pertinent in 2 essays typically what are ur significant leadership exp and goals essays you cant help but repeating it. It would certainly help if one was brief referenbce (goals essay) and the other was a detailed explanantion i.e leadership essay.

Also a lot of info is bound to be repeated in self evaluation essay.

I think as long as themes and concept behind the essays are unique and interesting its ok to repeat

And the best thing of all is that is entirely possible for someone to be Denied at Darden and admitted at Stanford (and the rest). The process is so unpredictable!

Cheers. L.
