Consulting recruiting is often heavily personal meaning your school is not the main driver or determinant of recruiting.

There are certain number of spots that supposedly consulting companies have targets but those are flexible and programs tend to be bigger and more competitive so it makes sense to give more spots potentially to larger programs.

The area where you will miss out the most by choosing UNC is having second year classmates and Force who have interned at all the management consulting companies last summer and having them help with Mark interviews and help you prep. UEC is able to get consulting companies come on campus but I’m not sure if that has happened this year. I would verify with students how on campus recruiting is for consulting. I think you can hack your own mini consulting program by basically spending 20,000 on the MBB consulting firm that helps you recruit. That’s a big chunk of change but at the same time, it’s a fraction of your tuition and will probably give you or perhaps even better results when it comes to recruiting…

Because otherwise, all of the consulting salaries are the same. You don’t negotiate. It doesn’t matter if you want to UNC or Kellogg, you will be paid the same if you were hired.

I think the UNC is attractive as long as you can pair it with a consulting placement agency package but I’m not sure if you have that kind of money sitting around to spend on it…
