When is Kellogg R2's decision day? End of march right? Like 23rd or something?

Mar. 26th. But their decisions go out on a rolling basis and they claim most decisions will be posted during the last several weeks.

Yea unless you happen to be lucky like me and you get to wait all the day until the saturday before decision day for your decision.

Rhyme I think you will get in - out of curiosity, what have you done since being placed on the wait list to show them you are still interested?

Went up to campus and kicked them in the !*@#*!@#. No, I sent them a passionate update letter, and had a student stop by to endorse my candidacy. Other than that, I really haven't put forward much effort. I want it, but I don't want it that bad. At least not anymore.... I've spent too much time learning everything there is to learn about the GSB.... I'm very well versed in that regard and know what to expect there.

The way I look at it is simple: If Kellogg admits me, I'll go to their DAK, check things out, and if I get a substantially better feel than at teh GSB, I'll seriously think about it. If Kellogg denies me, I'm happy with the GSB.

Talking to GSB students who were waitlisted at Kellogg, I heard a lot of similar stories - "they were interested, but then they got to know the GSB and then they really didnt put forward the effort to get off the waitlist at Kellogg." -- and they didnt get off it, or they withdrew.

hmmm...do you have another update you can send in?

Kellogg is a little different in terms of who you can contact because it is so large but I am sure you know who to send info to - if you have an update I would send it now just to reinforce the love one more time.

Its your call though, as you stated you dont want it THAT bad, so if you dont want to lobby its no big deal. What you have done so far sounds pretty good though.

I've been thinking about sending another one in. I've just been a bit lazy about it. I suppose I can always send one more.

Do it - then at least you can say you put the effort in and will have no regrets...

Sucks that they dinged me on Tuesday - I just retook the GMAT and scored a 710 - blah lol.

guys dont focus so heavily on the GMAT seriously it is just a stat for the school
if u break 700 i dont recommend taking it again...it is just a box to check off...focus on your essays, those are the MOST important, I have been learning more about how applications are assessed and it is overwhelmingly clear that alot of people focus on stats and forget about substance...if it feels any better I have a very close friend who had a 780 2 yrs more work ex than me and he didnt make it into any of the ultra elite's... the whole process is a crap chute, there is a lotta luck involved, write your essays as if you wanna be the reader and think, "this guy is the ****...i like him/her"

another thing...the one thing that pisses MBA's off the most (because everyone is on a high horse since they are in school, and think they are demi gods) is when u send emails with stats and ask em to evaluate you.
I did the same last year and didnt realize it isnt the right approach
when u contact people be smart about how you articulate your email, dont make it seem like u copy and pasted the email to 15 other people...FIRST YEARS CAN HAVE A HUGE SAY IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS.... depending on the school.

You are being evaluated right from the get go, you never know when a second year who interviews you asks a first year if you knew him, and if he has a bad impression of you it may be that slight difference between a "maybe lets give him a shot" and a " nevermind...not good enough"

I hope your right. I just applied to HBS with a 650 gmat. I focused a ton of energy to convey my personality and potential through my essays. If its anything like Big 4 recruiting, the stats get you in the door, but its selling yourself seals the deal (i hope)

HBS is different, I do not think they care too much abt the stats. As a matter of fact for a few years they did not even participate in the BW polls for the rankings!

I think HBS looks out for leaders. People who have already shown leadership traits and are sure to be leaders of the future. Its their way of ensuring that they maintain a successful pool of alumni to contribute back to the school. And its the alumni base that attract people to HBS and not the ranking. As a matter of fact they have not even faired as No 1 in majority of the ranking in the last couple of years!

No news here. However, I did interview fairly late (early Feb). Oh well, I'm taking he no news is good news approach...not to mention avoiding my email and jumping ten feet every time my cell phone rings.
