I am a R1 applicant for Kellogg and Sloan. Considering Booth for R2 just incase I don't get into my R1 schools.

How would one compare Booth to Kellogg and Sloan. My concern is that the Booth brand is not well recognized as compared to Sloan and Kellogg, esp since I am not a finance person.

Post MBA plans: Entrepreneurship in tech or Consulting

Any suggestions / comments will help me select my R2 schools! Thanks.

i applied to both booth and kellogg first round. was accepted to kellogg and waiting for booth's decisions.

booth has a strong entrepreneurship program, and i was quite impressed when i visited. kellogg has a slight lead over booth in terms of consulting hires. before i was 100% kellogg - now i am easily 50%/50% and would pick booth if the school offered me a scholarship.

I've met with Booth Alumni in Dubai MBA event, and I can quite frankly say that non of the alums we've met with was a technology fan. it was like 90% finance, 10% MC. Unfortunately, neither Sloan nor Kellogg were in the event, however, it's worth mentioning that Wharton alumni were from wider variety of careers (fashion, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Real-estate) and they were better organized and more helpful than their Booth counterparts.

My boss is a Booth grad, I hope he doesn't read my comment :)

Hi valleyboy,

Booth, Kellogg, and Sloan are all excellent business schools. With regards to consulting, the big international firms recruit heavily at these MBA programs:

If you don't pursue an entrepreneurial path, are there any companies you are particular interested in working for post-graduation? Kellogg, in particular, has an outrageous number of people going to McKinsey. It can be really difficult to land at McKinsey or BCG if you do not go to a school that they recruit at.

I hope this was of help.
