Kellogg vs Booth

Excited to be admitted to both, received money at both, but have no idea which to attend! My interest is in Social Enterprise, so Kellogg would be great, but I visited Booth and abs LOVED the school and the people. They both have same admit weekends so hard to decide =(

By the way, congrats!

It may be useful for you to talk to Linda Darragh, the director of entrepreneurship programs for the Chicago Booth's Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship, she may be really helpful. https://www.chicagobooth.edu/faculty/bio ... 2824723456
She teaches Social Entrepreneurship.

Anyway, I would recommend you to explore what courses are important for you and talk to professors and students.

To be honest, the difference in the schools from a career opportunity standpoint is pretty small. I'd recommend talking to students and professors at both schools to get a feel for the entrepreneurship programs (the student entrepreneurship club is probably a good place to start), and even though it'll be tough since they're the same weekend, to try and spend some time at each admitted student weekend. Culturally, I think you will find some noticeable differences between the schools.

And if you still can't decide, come to Kellogg. After all, U of C is where fun goes to die.

I'll be at Booth, so it will be plenty of fun. :-D

I know the school has had a reputation of being socially awkward/nerdy in the past (and I know some alums that live up to the stereotype), but I got the vibe that the school is doing a good job at bringing in people who know how to work hard AND play hard.

From your profile I see that you got into Wharton with what looks like nearly a full ride...so you get no sympathy for me! haha just kidding, congrats!!

and to be honest, I'm leaning towards Kellogg.

Go through the course offerings...find out not only what classes are listed but who teaches them and if they are offered every year. Talk to student clubs related to your goals. I have taken some amazing SEEK classes and we have some great professors in that area. However, I know nothing about career paths in that space. One thing to remember is that recruiting for jobs is not the same for everyone, there are people who get every job they want and others who still are struggling to find anything.

Find out if any alums are at your dream jobs...whether its at a big non-profit or some role at a fortune 100.

Good call...I've been looking at different courses (they also have posted the syllabus for a lot of the courses offered this semester), and the classes look AWESOME! (Specifically for SEEK)

Well my dream job would be to work as a consultant at Bridgespan and a lot of their consultants are from Kellogg, so that def helps! I'm hoping to speak with the Net Impact group as well to get a better idea of recruiting.

I'm starting to get pumped for Kellogg!
