One of the reasons why many choose the Nanyang MBA programme is because we have a cohort consisting of more than 20 nationalities across a wide range of industries. This includes South Korea, and we are proud to share the experiences of our Nanyang-Waseda MBA graduate, South Korean Ham Sungwon.
As a holder of Nanyang-Waseda Double MBA, Ham is currently undertaking the Microsoft Academy of College Hires programme, a 2-year scheme that trains recruits for roles in areas such as finance, marketing, information technology, operations, and sales and services.
Ham shared how her MBA studies in Singapore differentiated her from her countrymen who are educated in South Korea or the West.
"Singapore is a country where Koreans can use what they have because South Korea and Singapore are important parts of Asia economy. Singapore is close to korea geographically, culturally, and economically. I think this might be a good reason for Koreans to choose Nanyang MBA.
Her interactions and collaborations with her MBA classmates have made an impact on Ham as well."
"It made me understand people with different backgrounds better and it definitely helped me have better cultural intelligence. I met a lot of good friends both at NTU and at Waseda. That might be the most valuable thing I got from my MBA experience. Even though it has been more than a year after I graduate, my classmates and I talk a lot about our lives and work, and it helps me to solve the issues I face at work and life everyday."
