Since she has 20 quarters in dimes the formula to set up is Q+D=20, next the monetary value of these 20 coins is 3,05. A quarter is 25 cents, so 0,25. and a dime is 10 cents, so 0,1. We set up the second equation 0,25Q+0,10D=3,05. We have 2 unique values in 2 equations which allows us to solve for D. there are 13 dimes so D

Let the number of dimes = \(x\)
\(0.10x + 0.25(20-x) = 3.05\)
Multiply through by 100 to get rid of fractions
\(10x + 25(20-x) = 305\)
\(-15x + 500 = 305\)
\(15x = 195\)
\(x = 13\)
