Hello everyone! I am going to apply for 2021 intake (hopefully I will apply in autumn if I have my grades) in LBS MFA and other top unis in Europe with Finance degree, and I have one question.
I was wondering whether someone could help me to choose among 3 possible offers for my second internship in Russia.
I had my first one in one of the world leading corporations in nuclear industry, in its Investment and Financial Analysis Department, for 3 months. It was really relevant as I was dealing with valuation with comparable comps, DCF, financial modeling, even created VBA macro from scratch, which was added to all the company models + I used Capital IQ a lot.
So, concerning the second internship I will have: there is this choice among PwC Deal Advisory (as far as I understood they want me for summer+further, so it will be more than just summer internship), Lincoln International Intern and the biggest bank in Russia ($40b revenue) - Sberbank, its CIB division for 2 months in summer and probably they will provide me with offer afterwards.
What is my best choice? I know LBS wants me to have experience in large international corporations, so maybe PwC is best, however I personally would rather intern in Lincoln, it's one the leading mid cap IBs, so maybe it is recognizable in Europe as well. Russian bank is also a good choice, as it is the largest one in Russia and the competition was really tough, however I have no idea how valuable for LBS this internship might be in terms of the company name, multinationality etc.
I've been also thinking to try to postpone one the internships to autumn (if they accept it), so after summer I would have my 3rd internship. But these are just my hopes and thoughts. Maybe due to coronavirus Lincoln and/or PwC would be happy to postpone the offer to autumn due to bad market conditions, I don't know but that would be really perfect. Do you guys think this option is even possible?
Thank you!
PS after graduating LBS I'm planning to stay in Europe and work in IB.
