MB20197
Hello everyone!
I am a 21yo italian student of Management and Production Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (this is my last year obviously). I have been admitted at both programs but, unfortunately, I have to choose one of them in a really short period of time (before the 12th of June). This decision sounds very difficult to me, any suggestion?
Few facts:
- Obviously looking for a 2-years program, since both of them lasts at least 24 months
- A bit scared about Shanghai’s living experience (LBS 2nd year), while HEC will be probably less adventurous but more comfortable (maybe will involve a double degree program once I will get in)
- Deeply unsure about the future: interested in luxury environment but also looking for consulting experiences in big firms (possibly)
- No budget restrictions

MB20197First of all congrats on being admitted to both programs !

Second I really dont understand why did you tag so many schools that dont have anything to do with your question and dilemma ?

Now at LBS you will get double degree.
Its funny that you are concern about cost of living in Shanghai, since it is cheaper literally in ever category to live there than in London

For instance, rent with one bedroom in London outside of centre costs in average about 1300 euros vs. same apartment to rent in Shanghai outside centre for only 500 euros.
Thats almost triple

I can go on and on with individual living costs but you get the picture.
I had problem to figure out which HEC program you are reffering to, but I guess it is Grande Ecole MiM since rest are indeed double degree programs with partner institutions.
So as far as I understand you dont get double degree for MiM Grande Ecole.
However, I can see that they do mention in international opportunities section, international exchange and double degrees, so it is unclear how would you be able to obtain another degree, do you need to transfer to another institution to take their extra exams or not, are there extra costs etc.
If I was you I would first clarify that with them since that maybe just be reason to choose HEC over LBS or not.
Regarding rankings they are both ranked among best in Europe in FT or QS World University rankings, but I would know that even without it, since they are well known and well branded for long time now.

You really cannot go wrong, whatever you choose you will be set for good career

I vote for LBS, I would personally go there, but this double degree possibility at HEC with additional degrees from MIT, University of St. Gallen or Bocconi that might be especially interesting for you, could easilly change my mind if I had all info on terms and costs.
As soon as they explain you terms and costs I think you will have your answer

Good luck and keep us posted with your choice !
