Which program is better for strategy consulting? Specifically, energy/resources consulting.
For those of you not familiar with Columbia's MPA, it's housed in the School of International Affairs, and regarded within most IR circles to be a top-five program. They have an "Energy+Environment Management" concentration, with a handful of technical course offerings.
From what I gathered speaking with alum/professors/mentors:
LBS MiM ( 1 yr program )
- a truly international experience.
- ability to take finance electives.
- tight knit student body, great profs
Columbia MPA ( 2 yr program )
- also a very int'l experience (half of students are foreign)
- must take public affairs courses, leaves less room for concentration courses
- large class size. But professors are great.
My question is, who would a recruiter at a BCG, Booz, or even Accenture select given similar academic performance/extracurrics?
A bit about me. I'm 24. A US citizen with a economics degree from a top10 undergraduate program and 1 year work experience in insurance.
