LBS launched a One-Year MBA in August 2025, the first of its kind in Europe. It's been underexplained ever since. It's not the Sloan Masters. It's not the 15-21 month flagship. It's a new program specifically for MiM graduates.
1. What Is the LBS One-Year MBA and Who Is It Actually Built For?
Same MBA degree as the 15-21 month flagship but in 11 months. Possible because it's built for one specific profile:
No qualifying MiM? LBS directs you to the 15-21 month MBA regardless of experience. This is not a shortcut for non-MiM candidates.
2. What Does the Program Actually Include?
11 months, full-time, London. Three terms:
Tuition: £77,950 for 2026 (vs £123,950 for the 15-21 month MBA). Inaugural cohort: 24 nationalities, 91% international, avg 6 years' experience.
3. How Does It Compare to Kellogg 1Y — the Most Natural Comparison?
Kellogg 1Y has run for 60+ years on the same logic — skip core, go straight to electives. Key differences:
The honest comparison: Kellogg 1Y is better if you want the US market. LBS 1Y is better if you want London, Europe, or genuinely global placement — and its prerequisite is arguably more accessible for international profiles, since it takes any accredited MiM rather than Kellogg's specific prerequisite coursework in Statistics, Economics, Marketing, and Operations (which non-business majors can also complete, but represents a real extra step).

Not directly. INSEAD is a full 10-12 month MBA for career changers — no MiM required, maximum geographic flexibility, broadly open profile.
