1- I believe there is a strong consensus that LBS is particularly strong in finance. As it is set within a major financial city, LBS has a great advantage at placing its students for banking positions (Barclays has particularly strong recruiting with LBS alumn).
2- If you PM me, I can set you up with the alumn responsible for the Toronto chapter (if you live in TO it is).
3- You will have to do your own research here but I believe the international aspect is a great reason to come here. Over 90% of LBS students are non-British.

It depends on the level of interest for any given class/teacher or whether a class is core or elective. There could be as many as 70 students per class in core classes and as little as 35 in electives. I'm not sure for non-finance classes as I focused only on finance ones and most of them were quite popular. I did have a class of behavioural finance with approx 40 students I believe.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for your answer. Do you know how many students enroll in one class (yearly)

It depends on the popularity of the subject/teacher. Some classes like international finance taught by the very charismatic/brilliant professor Raman Uppal is always full despite having 3 streams of 40-50 students per term (available only 1 term per year I believe).

I'm also interested in LBS. From what I've read the program is really interesting...especially its int'l bus and finance components. I just took up a job in India, to see how start ups run in developing economies...so I can't really visit the campus. I've sent the adcoms a mail asking for info, and I know they are coming to Bangalore as part of the world mba program. How important is it to visit the campus? I'll try to gain as much info off the web, and via the adcoms but will it look bad if I don't visit?

No, it does not look bad although it is always a plus. I did not visit the campus prior to joining. Going to the event in Bangalore will demonstrate your interest in the program so please do so if you can.

Thanks naveen, I've sent them an email and I'm sure they will be helpful. Has anyone met the admin. officers from LBS at the world mba tour? From what I've heard it's a bit of a zoo and I would really appreciate any pointers.
Thanks again for all the advice!

Paul do you have any suggestions on this question??

Student involvement is an extremely important part of the London MBA experience and this is reflected in the character of students on campus. What type of student club or campus community event do you envisage yourself leading? How would you set about becoming involved in a leadership position and how would you align and communicate the goals and vision for the club to the wider School community?

I was wondering what LBS means with "communicate the goals to the wider school community"... any clues?

Thanks a lot

"wider school community" simply means the school itself (rather than only the candidates from the program you are in). In a wider context, an attractive club could also appeal to the alumni community which may like to participate in it (ie finance, investment management clubs).

This question is about how you would integrate in the school network and campus life and make the best use of your time at lbs. As opposed to solo study programs (cfa, cpa), an on campus program is meant for you to interact in and build your network.

Unfortunately, I do not personally know any alumnus in Rome.

Thanks a lot Paul. I got the point.
But in your opinion what does the essay mean with "communicate". Does it mean just the ways of communication (meetings, articles, etc.) or something else?

Thanks again

Yes, means of communication is one way of interpreting it. Another way of interpreting it would be how apt you would be at reaching out to your audience because of inherent skills/experience/traits of yours. How would you convey this information in a way which will capture your audience's interest/passion?

There is no place to attach official transcript in the application. Neither have they asked for the self-reported transcripts. Are we required to send the official transcripts by post to the school?

I remember having sent an official transcript with the application package.
