Sounds like a clear win for LBS.
If you still prefer a shorter program, you might still have a chance in getting an application ready for INSEAD though.

Thank you for the inputs :-D However, one thing really bothers me is that Americans consistently take LBS as LSE, as some other folks pointed out on this forum....

Both schools have a very strong reputation (although LSE is certainly more academic). I've known LBS grads who don't correct them.

You can graduate with an MBA from LBS in 15 months if you want a shorter program. I personally think that LBS is much stronger for getting a consulting job in London than Saïd. LBS is pretty widely seen as the best business school outside the USA and depending on who you are talking to on par with M7. Internationally its reputation is very strong and especially in London.

I agree with mba17 - doesn't really matter too much if some people confuse LBS with LSE. Somebody who's heard of both schools, knows that both are top notch, therefore it shouldn't bother you ;)

A 1Y program is great especially if you plan on returning to your current company and industry, however I chose to apply for 2Y programs myself because I am a career switcher going from engineering to management consulting. The 2Y program will give me the time I need to prepare and network with the consulting world. The biggest advantage I see for doing two years is the summer internship. You will have a much easier time landing a full time position at a management consulting firm if you did a good job while interning for them.

If I was in your position I would go for two years at LBS.

I guess, both are top notch. U might have to decide the others factors such as lifestyle and kinds of employers they attract, past internships and may be even Class profile.
Have a look at SHORTLISTB app, might give you an idea.
