Hello,
I have a dilemma to which I’d like to get some advice.
I am originally French, graduated from a Bachelor at McGill and currently an intern in Wine and Spirits in financial controlling.
I just got admitted to LBS MiM and I am waiting for the results of my interview from HEC-TUM in a double degree in MiM and masters in innovation. I am anticipating the choice that I would eventually have to make. Basically, I would like to start my career in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and I have completely lost between the two schools for which I will have to decide to make a decision on.
Do any of you know which school (and associated program) is best recognized abroad ? I know HEC is more recognized in France, but I don’t know about the recognition elsewhere around the world (especially in North America, Europe, and why not Asia). Or which school would be better suited for me regarding my professional ambitions to start a career abroad (I’d like to get a VIE, which is a French program to get a contract time job abroad). If any one who reads this has some advice, I’d be eternally grateful ! Thank you in advance :)

Hello Mderichemont,

LBS is definitely a bigger brand, has a better location, and has greater global repute and would, therefore, be more suited.

All the best!

Hey Mderichemont,

Congratulations on getting an admit from LBS for MiM and I wish you all luck to get an admit from HEC-TUM as well.

The LBS MiM programme is structured to provide a blend of in-depth theory and practical experience. It provides students with full-time corporate work experience alike. In addition, students can select from a list of 40 electives. Aside from the theoretical courses, there are Global Immersion field trips that help transfer theory to experience to solve problems, which is a basic business ability in high demand.

HEC Paris students following the double degree program with Technische Universität München - TUM School of Management (TUM-SOM) will have access to a very complete curriculum, learning both foundational and specialized knowledge in management and technology.

HEC double degree students will complete:
A specialization in management (seven options to choose from)
A specialization in technology (six options to choose from)
    A master's thesis

The duration of the program in Munich is three semesters, following two semesters spent at HEC Paris.
You must be aware that HEC is ranked 2 for MiM and London Business School is ranked 4 for MiM. That means HEC is a better school than LBS but LBS is also one of the best school in UK.

As you have mentioned that you are French. So, you go for the different culture and can learn about other cultured around the world. You can go for LBS.

But I am sure this is not at all about your learning of new culture but you are looking for the school for your career. So according to my suggestion you can go for HEC. But it all depends on you.
