Congratulations on your admits.
Not sure I will delete you with any smart comments 😂
I have seen another poor soul just a few days ago in the same situation. They were worried about the Consulting market taking a serious beating with many companies deferring start dates to beginning of 2024, and saw their concern was Will there be another jobs next year if they go to Insead or should they be hiding at LBS for two years.
Honestly I don’t know the answer to that prediction and no one else does and it’s pretty meeting was to try to tell the future.
One aspect to consider is your chances of getting recruited at MBB. This has two parts:
1. Your résumé
2. You’re interviewing and converting.
If you are confident at being invited to interview able to potentially convert, then I feel INSEAD is a preferred choice. It’s faster, provides a stronger and more focused group with primary focus on Consulting.
If you are unsure about your potential chances then having extra time and an extra summer internship they can help you walk in a return offer could be good. It’s a safer option because if the economy takes off again, you will be able to walk in a return offer during your summer internship and if the economy is worse, you have an extra year to recruit.
PS. Are you based in the US? Neither of these programs has a strong network in the United States and does not place well in the US. However, you can recruit for the US offices if you are a US person going to school in Europe. It’s a little awkward however…
PS. Have you applied for the pre-MBA internships?
