Hey

I have been studying gmat for almost 5 months. I started with Kaplan Live 2010,following with Kaplan verbal,OG 12 TH edition,OG verbal and Quantative 2nd review. I took 7 Cat practice test from Kaplan and my scores were;

610
610
630
660
640
670
680

i though i am ready to take GMAT, I downloaded Gmatprep CAt 1 from mba.com

my score was blowed me. I cant beleive my eyes. it was "500".I convienced myself to take it again right away. And i took it again.it was "560" .I got crazy and took it again the day after that day.my score was "600"

So how can it be happen. How a person can get at least 610 from kaplan and took at most 600 from gmatprep. I totally lost my concentration. I am desprite right now. :( tell me something about it. share your experince plz.

Well unfortunately the GMAT prep is the real thing. But in general I think it must be the verbal that's bringing your score down significantly. It's easier for other test prep companies to write quant questions that are similar to the GMAT prep but for verbal it's best to practice from retired official questions. HTH.

Well unfortunately the GMAT prep is the real thing. But in general I think it must be the verbal that's bringing your score down significantly. Dont be frustrated. Can you share your verbal & quant score bifurcation.

You also mentioned that you attempted the test again & again. What change did you feel, I mean did you get the same questions & despite answering those right you got the same score?? Kindly clarify.

Actually not the same.

Questions,in quantative,were always different.Although some questions,in verbal, were the same,i didnt remember the answers cuz i have never checked the explanations of answers.

My quant was 44 and verbal was 27. I have never seen below 49 in quant aside gmatprep...
