I am currently a tutor for the Boys and Girls Club at the Middle School next to my college, and would like some clarification on how I should prepare this for my application to deferred MBA programs.
1) Should I claim federal work study for this, or is it best to request for this position to be volunteer work (no pay)? I am really not doing it for the money, I just want the leadership and community service experience. I am also from a low socio-economic background though so maybe I should just claim the money?
2) Should I use this opportunity to get a recommendation letter? I have no internship experience due to Covid and don't really have any other source besides professors (for letters of recommendation). Also (if yes), should that letter come from an employee or the person who runs this organization at my college?

1) I don't think this matters for your candidacy, but if you need the money, you should do it for pay! That is a totally understandable thing to do.
2) Yes, potentially. Generally, you'd look for someone you report to, who knows your work best. Usually that's at the employer!
