Really? ?

I'm kinda confused now...

Cos I spoke to some senior HR people in my Group Headquarters yesterday and they told me that a CV can be 2 pages long... In some cases, 3 pages are also okay with them...

U reckon that CV for B-schools are a bit different?

Cos the application page only limits our CV to 500KB, it doesn't limit our no. of pages...

Again, I am only 100% sure about what Oxford requires for their application and during the MBA. A standard 1 page CV.

I can confirm - for Oxford, CV should be 1 page. Cambridge app did not require uploading a CV last year (don't know what the rules will be this year) - but I think the career service would have asked you to prepare a standart one-page CV in any case.

I have been in MBA World Fair and passing my CV to some B-school, the thing is I passed my 2 pages CV for job application (didn't know about this site at that time) Do you think it will ruin my chance with these B-schools?

Hi all,

my two cents on this topic:

I have 2 versions of my CV. One very short (1 or 2 pages depending on the requirements) and other version very accurate, very long.

I store the long version in some place on the internet (google docs, box, etc.) and add a little reference to that online document on my short CV.

So, if the reader is interested on me, she will check my long version cv and find more details about me.

Other option is using social networks (linkedin for instance) to store the long version cv...

Regards

In a one-page CV, would we be expected to include extracurriculars, language abilities etc as well?

But as seen in the present few years, the average length of a CV is around two to three pages. Employers don't have strict requirements on CV length, but making your CV length two to three pages helps the hiring manager digest your experience for the position they're hiring for.

A single-page resume is generally for freshers who don't have the experience to show. But if someone has academic projects which are needed to explain so it's ok to make a CV of 2 to 3 pages

MBA programs require a 1-2 pages resume for MBA in their applications. Your MBA candidate resume should focus on your professional and educational background, and highlight your achievements in these areas. The MBA CV is quite different from a traditional business resume in that it should focus heavily on MBA skills and traits such as leadership, teamwork and international work experience.
