Question

Do Letter of Recommendation need to be completed before I can submit the rest of the application and pay? Or are they separate?
Specifically at Wharton, Kellogg, Michigan.

For most of the schools, all the components of an application should be packed, and submitted on or before the deadline day. Some schools give specific instructions for recommendation deadlines separately. Check on the website or with the adcoms.

If you do not see anything mentioned for recommendation deadlines, you got to submit everything before the close the round one.

Thank you! That answers part of the question. The other part: If I click "submit" and pay the fee on my end after having completed all the other components of the application, and they have yet to click "submit" on their end, is it going to lock them out from completing their part?

I do not think so.

When you are about to submit the application, if the IT Tool lets you submit your side without waiting for the recommender, it should mean that your recommender has the flexibility to submit their letters later.

However, in my opinion, the CRM Systems of these schools are primitive. Check their sites or try to play with the CRM.

LORs can be submitted by your recommenders after you submit your application, but before the deadline, unless the school says otherwise.
