When should we get our letter of recommendations ready? I will be taking GMAT sometime in 2017 and will be applying for the colleges 2 years later. Should i start fetching the letter of recommendations? and how many LOR's should one get?

Hi abirdey1,
If you're not planning to apply to Business School for at least the next couple of years, then you shouldn't ask for any Letters of Rec just yet. The number (and 'type') of Letters will depend on the Schools that you plan to apply to, so if you have an idea of which Schools/Programs interest you, then you can research that information now. However, you should keep in mind that each School's application could change a bit in the future.

You will need your LORs at the time of the application. Right now, they will be useless. The application form of the school to which you apply will give you details on how many LORs you want and who can give them etc. Just focus on your GMAT right now.
