Hello All,
I am applying to Michigan Ross' MBA program and for the letter of recommendation, I wish to provide the letter from my professional mentor instead of my current supervisor. I am planning to do so because my mentor has known me longer than my supervisor(have been at this job for only 6 months, but my mentor has known me for over 1.5 years).
Does that impact the application? Do you recommend I still take the recommendation from my supervisor?

Read these instructions from Ross. It will be clear:
Select a recommender who can discuss your professional performance and work style; a current or former supervisor is ideal. Alternatives include a client, project manager, or professional mentor.
They'll accept your mentor's recommendation. For the other programs where you are applying, check their requirements and then decide whether you need an optional essay.

The schools want to see at least one letter from someone in a supervising position over you, but as long as you have one, the other can come from someone else!
